Our final stop on Saturday was in the “Pueblo del Encanto” (“Towns with charm” --not quite up to “Magic” status) Temascalcingo. We arrived at the Parish of San Miguel Arcángel on the main plaza, shortly after a wedding was concluded; but just in time to add our efforts to those of the official wedding photographer. A statue near the plaza honors the Mexican landscape painter José Maria Velazquez. The Centennial Kiosk highlights the central plaza. The name Temascalcingo is Nahuatl for “place of the little temascal (sweat lodge)”.
