Friends from our church, Bob and Carol, visited us during the past week. They were fortunate to arrive in time for the annual first day of Spring celebration at the pyramid called “El Cerrito” in El Pueblito. Tradition calls for people to show up there in white clothing to absorb energy from the sun. This is also a celebration of the birthday of Benito Juarez, and a large conchero dancing and music event.

In tours around the city, Carol was interested in shopping for the characteristic Querétaro dolls. We visited some of our favorite sites: Meson Santa Rosa, the 1810 Restaurant, the andadores (pedestrian streets), and museums, parks, and markets. We were happy that Carol and Bob were willing to volunteer repeatedly to wash dishes! Looks pretty clear that they enjoyed their visit to Querétaro!
