During the night, the crest of the flow increase (from 8,000 Cubic Feet per Second to 31,000 CFS) completed the journey down from Glen Canyon Dam, and reached our campsite at Mile 134 about 12:30am. Lynn noted that Oscar was about to float away, and the crew went into brisk action. A number of campsites got relocated, including ours. The kitchen got moved, the boats pulled in and re-moored, and the water rose dramatically.

In the morning, our new campsite was behind some big rocks, moved 30 or 40 yards back from the night before. The river was now lapping at those very rocks. The other big rock downstream to the left is the one that was hiding Oscar the night before.
