Our friend Jorge picked us up at the Valparaiso bus station after our flight from New York and our bus ride from Santiago. He brought us home to Residencial Schlichting, where we stayed so happily last year. We settled right in to apartment #3, and walked around the area revisiting familiar sites. We are staying a week in Valparaiso to take in some of the attractions of the Valparaiso Festival de las Artes, along with the New Year's celebration.
